Look After Your Beard During Lockdown

Keep Your Beard Looking Sharp During Lockdown – Top Tips From Christian Wiles Barbers in Northampton

If your beard is looking overgrown and straggly and you are beginning to resemble Hagrid from the Harry Potter books, it’s time to take action!

Christian Wiles has some top tips to get your beard looking neat and tidy at home.  You will need a comb or beard brush, hairdressing scissors and a beard trimmer to get the right look. It’s also worth investing in a high quality product such as Baxter of California’s Grooming Cream which is available to buy now in our online shop. We stock some great products in our online shop which are designed to help you stay looking sharp including these beard balms, brushes, combs, and beard oil from the Bedfordshire Beard Co.

We are not yet certain of the services we will be allowed to provide when we re-open so beard trimming may not be an option.  We simply do not yet know.

However, we will be able to resume hair cutting and colouring again at some stage.  To this end, we have set up a Priority Booking List.  If you want to be one of the first to get an appointment at Christian Wiles Hairdressing when we re-open, please consider joining  our list.

How To Shape & Tidy Your Beard and Moustache

Step 1: Start under your jawline.  Comb against the hair growth to find any stray hairs.  Trim these off with your scissors.

Step 2: Comb your sideburns before using your clippers to tidy them up.  Start with a high guard and gradually reduce the guard to a lower level for a closer cut.

Step 3: Focus on your moustache. You want a consistent length so comb down and then trim with your clippers.  Trim any hairs hanging over your lips by following the contours of your lips.

Step 4: Remove any hairs on your cheeks and above the beard line.

Step 5:  Comb the neckline hairs upwards, then trim down using clippers in the direction of the hair growth.
